An exciting social events programme has been designed especially for the ICD2015 Conference Delegates Accompanying Persons.
Please see summary of the programme in the table below. 


In addition to events organised for the main delegates there is a list of tour options provided for all Accompanying Persons on Friday the 9th of October.

The Book of Kells & Antique Dublin

Trinity College Dublin – The Book of Kells – Arts & Antiques Quarter – Number 10 – Afternoon Tea

You will step back in time through the years today starting with a morning visit to Trinity College to view the Book of Kells and the Long Room Library,  this is a “must see” on the itinerary of all visitors to Dublin.

Located in the heart of Dublin City, a walk through the cobbled stones of Trinity College Dublin will bring visitors back to the 18th century, when the magnificent Old Library building was constructed. Inside is housed the Book of Kells – a 9th-century gospel manuscript famous throughout the world.

From Trinity College you will then visit the exquisite Number Ten, a beautifully restored Georgian House on the Quays in the Centre of Dublin. It's Owner, Mr John Lynch, has a wonderful collection of magnificent antiques, fine art and Modern Irish Art.

You will enjoy a tour of the house, given by the owner himself, or a senior staff member and High Tea in the Gallery Picture Room.

From here you will have time to wander in Dublin’s Arts & Antiques Quarter where you will have the opportunity to browse the many antique shops.


Kildare Village, Irish National Stud and Japanese Gardens


This tour includes a nice mixture of shopping and nature in Co. Kildare. Visiting Kildare Village and the National Stud and Japanese Gardens.

The Irish National Stud is home to some of Ireland's finest and most famous racehorses. Join a guided tour of the farm, then pop into the state-of-art Horse Museum where the nation's long love affair with horse racing is brought to life.

Wander around the internationally acclaimed Japanese Gardens, created in the early 20th century by Japanese gardener Tassa Eida and his son.Finally, take a stroll throughout Saint Fiachra's Garden, dedicated to the patron saint of gardens and designed to capture the main elements of the Irish landscape - rock and water.
